Well… She’s fine being a lesbian. She is as she is, is Ms. Rachel. If she were a standardized hetero-, currently available woman, and remain just as she is now, yes. She’d be a more effective model for what women-in-news should be: bright, honest, articulate, well-informed, engaged, in command of herself, connected, funny, attractive without the need for glamor and just plain-old there and in the moment. I love seeing her in flannel shirts and knowing that under that (mostly transparent and open) table on-set, that she’s in jeans and sneaks. I like knowing that she rides the train to Mass. on weekends and spends time with her beloved and her dog… I love knowing that she’s just as she is.

There are many excellent progressive blogs out there, and the one thing they have in common is that the writers string their thoughts together in complete sentences. This post reads like a page out of Rorschach’s journal for goodness, sake!

What does Perot have to do with anything? Ross Perot (not Peroit) ran for President as the Reform Party candidate, not as a Republican. And he ran in 1992, years after the Fairness Doctrine was rescinded.

Despite your asynchronous ramblings, I was able to deduce that you do not really dig Conservative Radio that much. There are alternatives. You can listen to National Public Radio in most areas, and I would be writing conservatively if I noted that NPR is a bit left of center. Or tune in to the myriad of local progressive radio stations that are out there. Try a Podcast or two.

By the way, radio is a business (except for NPR!) and the reason Limbaugh is on the radio everywhere is because his radio show is profitable, for him and the stations that run it. Perhaps if a progressive network could find a way to consistently make a profit. . .

I for one cannot stand talk radio of any political stripe. I jack my iPod into the dash and listen to Metallica, Iron Maiden, and the Dead Boys whenever I drive somewhere, so maybe you should do the same if el Rushbo has got you so addled you find yourself unable to even organize a few words into a passable sentence.

Of course, maybe you are already are jamming everywhere you go already, hence the ringing in the ears. . .

Members of the Obama administration have openly admitted that there would be speculators and credit abusers who would become eligible for taxpayer support under the mortgage bailout plan, that should resonate with anyone in this country who actually pays taxes (like me, for instance). After all we have already signed up for a trillion dollar stimulus package, which is immediately followed by a $410 billion earmark-laden spending bill, and now this what, I forget, is it 400 + billion dollar mortgage plan? And the year is still young!

And a stock exchange is hardly the belly of the beast, View (except maybe in Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, and other worker’s paradises); you have to travel here, to Washington D.C. to find the belly. Or the underbelly, maybe. . .

If only a distraught clown had gone berserk in Stamford, CT a few days ago, instead of the ape. Most people hate clowns, and there are no clown advocacy groups to my knowledge. . .

Who cares where Murdoch lives, that’s ridiculous. If the Post’s cartoonist portrayed an American President that you absolutely despised (like, well, let me guess, George W. Bush) as a monkey, would you be decrying his nationality? Doubtful.

Also, at least Murdoch’s papers are surviving; how much longer before the New York Times or LA Times go under?
