DOOMED

May 13, 2007

outhouses.jpgMuch to do about nothing. It just occurred to me that we are doomed. The little things are so important to us. Things that don’t really matter. We are locked  in a debate about nothing. Are we having any dialogue about Alberto Gonzales.  Nope, not any. We are worrying and fretting about who Al Sharpton thinks is going to heaven. Wow. That’s not the bad part. The war in Iraq.  Are we having any discussion about it, really. No, no discussions.  Oh, we have a body count everyday and we say ain’t it awful. But not meaningful discussion. We are worrying about can a Mormon be elected President.  We always go back to the things that divide us.  Abortion and gays.  We are just about to spend a trillion dollars on a war and all we can talk about is if gays can get married or not. We have made that so important we can’t see the blood on our hands. Somehow if we win this one debate we will be alright. That our very existence depends of gays and what happens to them.  If we can win this abortion thing we will get the golden ring.  Our focus to so narrow that we can’t see all the other issues that are as important as these two.  We are not good at multitasking.  Are we controlled by our government that wants us to believe that we somehow have a say in what happens but we really don’t?  Are those ten Republican candidate there to distract us from the real issues of the day. Are they there to distract us from a War that is never ending.  All the corruption and misdeeds that they refuse to talk about. Are they there to shield the George Bush from having to answer for this his wrong doing.  This will all pass as will the Presidency of George Bush.  He will disappear into the history books and out of our lives forever.  But the things he has done will be with us for a long long time. I don’t have to list them. They will revisit us again and again in the very near future. We are too busy trying explain our religious beliefs with science and not the Bible. We are so unsure about our beliefs that we must somehow have a physical explanation for something spiritual. That doesn’t make sense. We want science to validate our God. That pretty much puts us all in the non-believer category. A lose, lose place.  If we think we have to prove that God exist then where are we. I like to think that we have some importance in all these goings on, but I really don’t think we do. I really think someone else is controlling the dialogue and what we say or think is so much blogging noise.  Nothing serious.  That’s all for today but tomorrow we will take about Gays or abortion as we hear the sound of the giant toilet flushing.  I love tit for tat blogging, don’t you. Maybe my side will win.
